Luck in Photography vers 7.0
Luck, or timing, in photography can make or break and image. Come on, you know it's true even if you don't want to admit it. .I was working on a fashion assignment in San Francisco, California, and as I was focusing on the model in the center of the photograph above, an elderly couple stopped to see what was happening. Their brief stop happened so quickly (they stopped and then moved on almost instantly) that had I been changing film — I was using a Leica M4 with a Super Angulon 21mm lens — the opportunity — and the look on their faces as if they were looking at some sort of alien from a far off planet — would have been lost. Admittedly I was prepared, and some say you make your own luck, but in this case the inclusion of the couple made this work and I was very happy with their unexpected appearance.
