Lowriders: A small selection of vintage (circa 1980) photos taken at a lowrider car show in the San Francisco Bay area
I was going through some of my negatives and came across a few taken in June of 1980 somewhere in the San Francisco Bay area. Unfortunately the exact location wasn't noted. One thing that did strike me was one photo of car hopping. Apparently between 1980 and now, Two fellows in the photo are prone on the ground measuring the car's hop, which looks to be about 12 inches or thereabouts. Today cars and trucks can hop so high they occasionally get stuck in the "hopped" position because their rear bumper is caught on the ground. (And example of old/new hopping at the bottom of this page).
NOTE: If you happen to recognize any of the cars or people in these photos, or know the location of the car show, I'd like to hear from you.

This looked to me like an Aztec-themed mural (above and below)
