Ghost Ranch
Ghost Ranch is in my “neighborhood,” so to speak. As the crow flies, it’s about ten miles from my home: my home being in the middle of nowhere in Northern New Mexico.
Ghost Ranch is a meditative place to visit, which I do on occasion. You can hike to Chimney Rock, visit the museums, wander the labyrinth and explore the Peace Garden or simple sit in one of the Adirondack chairs and watch the sheep graze or enjoy a sunset.
Views of Abiquiu Dam and Cerro Pedernal are among the visual treats to Ranch visitors and the Ranch is the site of some spectacular dinosaur fossil discoveries, which are chronicled nicely in the Paleontology Museum.
For a while I grew seeds for the High Desert Research Farm, which was located at Ghost Ranch.
The Ranch has been the location of numerous movies and the landscape, which I particularly enjoy photographing, is always changing and inviting.
