Lowrider Day, Espanola, New Mexico
Selected Images
Lowrider Day in Espanola, New Mexico, in 2017, 2018 and 2019, are the years I consider the most vibrant for the event.
The 2019 hopping contest (above) featured Eppie Martinez, of Red’s Old School Hydraulics, hopping and winning with his father Ray’s truck shortly before Ray’s death.
The 2017 and 2018 events featured a lowrider cruise/parade that started on Industrial Road and ended at the Plaza.
I really enjoy attending car shows. Car owners are always fun to talk with and always very willing to talk about their cars.
These events also illustrate how family oriented car culture is. You often find multi-generations showing together and hear stories of children inheriting cars their parents lovingly crafted.
Below are a few images I felt illustrate the event well.
