Owl Cafe, Albuquerque, New Mexico
My family, friends and I have often eaten at Owl Cafe over the years. It has recently changed owners and we're waiting to see if the food is as consistent as with the previous owner. Time will tell. If you decide to check Owl out, make sure you say Hi to my favorite waitress, Tammy.
Added May 8, 2025 — Unfortunately I've decided to take Owl Cafe off my places to eat in Albuquerque list. After the new owner bought Owl service has been erratic and food has been unpredictable. An example: on my last visit I ordered biscuits and gravy, one of my go-to breakfasts at Owl, and when it arrived the biscuits were so hard I literally could not push a fork into them. I've heard from others who have been long time fans of Owl who have had similar complaints. I wish it were not so.
I mourn the demise of Manny's, which was located on Central Avenue near UNM, but recommend Copper Canyon on Gibson, the Daily Grind and Millie's on Candeladria.
