Luck in Photography vers 17
Often it is simply happenstance which puts you in a situation that offers a memorable photographic opportunity.
That is what happened to me recently when I was driving home through Abiquiu, New Mexico.
A very brief snow shower began a few miles south of the Santa Rosa de Lima church ruins on Highway 84.
As I drove closer to the ruins, I hoped the snow would last.
When I arrived at the ruins, the wind was blowing at about 40 to 50 miles per hour and the snow was blowing almost horizontally.
There was no accumulation to speak of and I could see the snow would be brief, so I stopped and quickly took a few photos before the snow ended and I was on my way home once again.
One of the aspects I like about this photo is with the wind blowing the snow so hard, it made it appear something akin to brushstrokes in a painting.
